Depending on the season, please bring either a cooling blanket or a winter blanket for your horse.
Yes, you may bring your own feed after consultation with our veterinarians. Please ensure that all meals are pre portioned and clearly labeled with your horse’s name and the date. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that your feed will be used. At the Hanseklinik, horses are routinely provided with low sugar muesli, mash and hay.
We offer stalls of various sizes in both indoor and outdoor areas of the clinic. All stalls are cleaned daily and freshly bedded.
Payment can be made directly at reception. Please note that we do not accept cash. Payment is possible by EC card or credit card. Alternatively, invoices can be settled via bank transfer after invoicing through our partner BFS health finance GmbH.
Upon request, we offer additional services such as lunging or hand walking for an extra fee to support your horse’s mobility. Please contact us separately for details.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please inform us as early as possible and at least 24 hours in advance to avoid unnecessary costs. This also allows us to offer care to another patient. Thank you for your understanding.
Please bring your horse’s equine passport and, if possible, complete our registration form in advance. If inpatient treatment is required, our team will inform you on site about any additional documents or information needed.
Yes. You will receive a phone call once your horse’s surgery has been completed and your horse is safely back in its stall.
Yes, there are several insurance options available. Please speak to us directly and we will be happy to advise you and connect you with our insurance partner.
You are welcome to visit your horse during our visiting hours. Please register in advance. After check in, you will receive a visitor pass at reception.

During inpatient treatment, the Hanseklinik provides a designated parking area for horse trailers close to the clinic grounds at Pferdekoppel, Neuer Weg near house number 22, 27419 Lengenbostel. A detailed route description is available. Parking is free of charge for our clients but at your own risk. The Hanseklinik assumes no liability for damage to vehicles or trailers. Directions and an access code can be obtained at reception if needed.

The clinic is located in the northern industrial area of Sittensen, directly adjacent to a nature reserve and approximately 500 meters from the A1 motorway between Hamburg and Bremen. Please exit the motorway at Sittensen and follow the signs toward the industrial area. After a short drive along Hansestraße, turn right into Karl Benz Straße. The Hanseklinik is immediately on the left. The nearest international airports and long distance train stations are in Hamburg and Bremen, both approximately 70 kilometers away.
