In addition, we also offer almost all services related to classic orthopaedics, surgery and internal medicine, as well as emergency surgery. Our experienced clinic team takes a holistic approach to caring for your horse, using their years of experience, the most modern therapies and the newest technologies.

The clinic grounds offers patients two modern operating rooms including recovery boxes, pretraining tracks, lunging hall, more than 70 horseboxes and its own laboratory on an area of around 11,000 m². This means we can provide you with the best possible treatments, examinations and post-operative care.

Our vets, as well as all of our hospital staff, are available for you and your horse round the clock.

We look forward to your visit.

Our  Services

Horses generally have a monocular field of vision, meaning any visual impairments can have serious consequences. Dr Stephan Leser and his team specialise in eye care for horses, and offer an entire spectrum of the most modern diagnosis and treatment methods.

Orthopaedics play a central role in equine medical care. In addition to comprehensive diagnostics, this also includes treatment for lameness, rideability issues, spinal pain and limb misalignments. Dr Jens Körner and his team focus on this area in our hospital.

Respiratory and laryngeal illnesses are very common among horses. Affected animals sometimes suffer from reduced performance or even asphyxiation symptoms.
Dr. Olivier Brandenberger
and his team use the latest treatment methods in this area, which are individually tailored to the patients.ts.

In addition to our surgical areas of expertise, we also offer a wide range of routine procedures in the fields of orthopaedic and soft-tissue surgery. Our doctors work with minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic techniques, and also offer general anaesthetic where possible, so that they can treat your horse more gently.

Veterinary examinations are an important criteria for anyone interested in buying a horse. Our experienced doctors evaluate horses according to professional criteria and document their current condition in detail.

The term ‘colic’ is used to refer to various painful conditions a horse may have. These are often linked to problems with the gastrointestinal tract, but there may also be other causes. Colic often comes on very quickly and can be life-threatening, which means it is critical for detailed examinations to happen without delay.

In addition to our specialisations, Hanse Equine Hospital offers an almost complete range of equine medicine. Our services are carried out by our experienced doctors as either inpatient or outpatient procedures.
