The Hanse Clinic for Horses recently celebrated its clinic expansion with a veterinary symposium and accompanying industry trade fair. The ATF-certified event on May 4, 2024 attracted top-notch speakers who shared their knowledge and experience. The second expansion in three years now includes a QALIBRA CT, an enlarged surgery area, additional examination rooms and a new dental clinic, all aimed at improving the quality of horse care and treatment. The event was hosted by Dr Jens Körner, Dr Stephan Leser and Dr Olivier Brandenberger. The morning of the symposium offered various aspects of veterinary medicine, from current developments and case studies in ophthalmology to innovative diagnostic methods such as electroretinography in horses and important differential diagnoses in respiratory diseases. In the afternoon, special dental cases and the new QALIBRA CT scan technology were presented. Topics such as ultrasound examination of the pelvic bone, pain therapy for colic and adductor complaints in horses and riders were also covered. The all-day accompanying industry trade fair offered participants valuable insights into the latest developments and trends in the industry. Typical of the Hanseklinik, the exhibition was characterized by its special charm, as renowned exhibitors from the industry presented innovative products and services in the stalls of the horses or at other attractive points on the clinic grounds and provided visitors with first-hand information. At the same time, participants took the opportunity to visit the extended clinic premises. In this context, the culinary delights offered by the well-known chef Cornelia Poletto and the 5-star Hotel Landhaus Wachtelhof were a particular highlight. In addition to the excellent food, the breaks provided an excellent opportunity for networking and exchange among colleagues. Discussions and shop talk continued well into the evening. The Hanse Equine Hospital can already speak of a small tradition when it comes to organizing events that not only serve the purpose of continuing education, but also provide a platform for exchange between professionals. This year’s symposium was further proof of the clinic’s commitment to bringing the veterinary community together and promoting progress in equine medicine. The combination of professional exchange and the opportunity to learn about the latest industry products and services made the event a valuable experience for all involved.
