Dr Kirstin Brandt

Dr Kirstin Brandt was born in 1965 and studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover from 1985 to 1990. Between 1991 and 1993, she worked on her doctoral thesis on the adverse drug effects following intravenous injections in horses. After her degree, she began her residency as a research associate under the supervision of Professor Deegen at the equine hospital at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. She finished her specialist training in 1996 after successfully passing examinations to become a specialist equine veterinarian.

In 1997, Dr Brandt became a veterinarian at Bargteheide Equine Hospital. She worked at the equine hospital in Sottrum from 1999 to 2018. Dr Brandt has held the additional title of equine ophthalmologist since 2010. She has continued her career as a specialist of ophthalmology and internal medicine at Wiedaugrund Animal Hospital in Rotenburg (Wümme) since May 2018. After the successful move to Sittensen and renaming the hospital to Hanse Equine Hospital, Dr Kirstin Brandt has been working as a senior veterinarian in the ophthalmology and internal medicine departments.
