On 3 May 2024, the managing directors of the Hanseklinik Equine Hospital, Dr Stephan Leser, Dr Olivier Brandenberger and Dr Jens Koerner, welcomed 130 invited guests to the clinic’s first Golden Dinner. This special event took place in the stable wing of the Hanseklinik and was centred around the golden horse – a symbol that can be admired at the entrance to the clinic grounds.
The Hanseklinik has come an impressive way since it opened in Sittensen in March 2019. From its beginnings with around 20 employees, it has developed into a renowned facility with over 100 employees and 72 horse boxes. The recent expansion of the clinic premises in just three years demonstrates the continuous growth and steady improvement in medical care for horses.
The Golden Dinner was not only an opportunity to look back on this success, but also to give something back. Friends, companions, sponsors and, of course, customers of the Hanseklinik were invited. Attractive prizes such as photographic art, jewellery and luxury short trips were auctioned off as part of a charity auction. The proceeds of 45,000 euros were donated to the Off Road Kids Foundation, which helps homeless and vulnerable young people throughout Germany. The auction was supported by generous sponsors who, together with the enthusiastic bidders, made this evening a very special event. The generous donation from tennis star Michael Stich and his wife Alexandra is particularly noteworthy.
Together with the team from the Hotel Landhaus Wachtelhof, top chef Cornelia Poletto spoilt the guests with an exquisite four-course menu. But Mrs Poletto showed that her talents don’t stop at cooking, as together with her podcast colleague Dennis Wilms, she charmingly hosted the auction and skilfully ensured a higher auction price or two. Managing Director Markus Seidel and CEO Professor Dr Rüdiger Grube from the Off Road Kids Foundation reported on their important work and called on everyone to open their wallets wide as well as their hearts.
The Golden Dinner was an evening of gratitude, togetherness and support – a successful event that emphasised the connection between people and horses as well as the Hanseklinik’s social commitment.
