Review of the DVG Congress 2024: A successful exchange and exciting case studies

Our vets had the great pleasure of attending this year’s congress of the German Veterinary Medical Society (DVG). The congress was once again very well attended and offered numerous opportunities for in-depth discussions between colleagues. Particularly noteworthy this year were the exciting case studies that were discussed during the sessions.

The focus on equine ophthalmology

On Thursday, October 31, 2024, the conference of the Equine Ophthalmology Working Group took place. The all-day conference attracted numerous experts and interested parties from all over Germany.

Four of our vets were also represented with their specialist presentations, providing valuable insights into their work.

  • Phacoemulsification in bilateral atypical congenital cataracts – Dr. Stephan Leser
  • Multiple congenital ocular anomalies (MCOA) – Dr. Kirstin Brandt
  • Congenital stationary night blindness (CSNB) in horses – a case study – Jasmin Roesberg
  • Metastasis of an ocular squamous cell carcinoma in the Haflinger – a case report -Jennifer Bormann

In summary, the congress was a great success

Our veterinarians not only had the opportunity to share their expertise and provide valuable insights, but also to actively participate in a lively exchange with other colleagues. This dialog in particular is a valuable enrichment – it allows us to look beyond our own horizons and leads to new perspectives and ideas that can play a major role in our daily work.

We are already looking forward to the next DVG Congress!
