With Charlott-Maria Schürmann (30) and Sarah-Denise Fink (21), the Hanse Equine Hospital supports two young talents in professional equestrian sport. Dr. Stephan Leser, Co-Clinic Director, says: “The Hanse Equine Hospital decided to sponsor the two young top riders because we want to actively support the future of dressage as well as show jumping. Both athletes have already made a name for themselves at international competitions and are among the top riders in their age groups in Germany respectively Austria. We provide both of them with professional medical care for their horses and in return we are pleased to have them as suitable brand ambassadors for our clinic on internationally renowned stages.”

Dressage rider Charlott-Maria Schürmann

Charlott-Maria Schürmann from Gehrde in Lower Saxony, who studied business administration, has been riding in the dressage quadrangle since she was a small child. Always determined and situational with the right feeling in tournaments, describes her her former trainer Oliver Oehlrich, who is currently the national coach of the Swiss dressage team. Schürmann was quickly regarded as a young talent who always meticulously analyses and pushes everything forward and has meanwhile mastered all difficulty classes. Today she trains under national trainer Sebastian Heinze and, parallel to her own horses, she also trains other international dressage horses with a particularly promising future.

The equestrian from Gehrde has won six gold medals at European Championships for juniors and young riders so far in her riding career. In 2021, the winner of the final from 2012 convinced at the Görlitz BURG-POKAL premiere, where she entered the annual final with the horse Absinth. One of her greatest successes to date, however, is her recent World Championship debut for young horses in Ermelo, the Netherlands, at the beginning of September 2022, where she secured eleventh place (8.48) with her five-year-old Hanoverian stallion Life Time (by Livaldon – Fürstenball).

Show jumper Sarah-Denise Fink

The 21-year-old business administration student Sarah-Denise Fink comes from near Graz in Austria and has been riding show jumpers since she was 9 years old. As a semi-professional show jumper, she was regularly among the top 10 in the Austrian rankings for juniors and young riders. In this age group she was able to celebrate victories and placings at several international horse shows, such as the Amadeus Horse Indoors in Salzburg, Austria, the FEI Jumping Nations Cup in Gorla Minore, Italy or the Horses & Dreams in Hagen, Germany and many more. Sarah-Denise Fink is trained since 2015 by the Austrian show jumping champion Gerfried Puck, who has already brought numerous horses to international competition levels and trains equestrians holistically.

With her horses Calvin Harris, Hulapalu Chaspara and Shirin, Sarah-Denise Fink was able to achieve further career milestones and became, among other things, the Austrian National Champion 2019 in the small tour up to 135 cm. Fink, who was voted “Newcomer of the Year” by the readers of the Kleine Zeitung in Austria in 2020, achieved further top placings this year at the international show jumping tournament of the U25 Tour in Budapest, Hungary, at the CSI Hof Waterkant in Pinneberg near Hamburg and at the international tournament in Samorin, Slovakia.
